About Me

My Philosophy

Knowing that diets, food rules and regulations do not work, I take a non-diet approach to your nutrition and wellbeing needs. I will look at the big picture of what makes you, you. What are your strengths that we can highlight and what are the barriers that are impacting on your nutritional needs and holding you back?

Working alongside you, without judgement, I will present information that is evidence based. Evidence that excludes the bias of weight.

This then enables you to spend less time absorbed in the chaos or obsession of food and diets, and frees up time to put your efforts and energy into other more important areas of your life.

How is an Anti Diet / Health at Every Size Dietitian different??

A HAES dietitian knows that diets FAIL in the long term. We also acknowledge that human beings come in ALL shapes and sizes and have unique experiences in their bodies.

So, instead of encouraging ‘diet prison’ with rules and eating plans, a dietitian who uses the Non Diet / Intuitive Eating approach will listen to your experiences and help you build your own awareness and skills around food so you can confidently nourish and take care of yourself.

My Background

I have been a dietitian for longer than I care to admit (25+years!), my experience ranging from group education, consulting to aged care, community health and individual consultations.

My passion is to work with people who have experienced yo-yo dieting, or are having thoughts and behaviours around food that rule their everyday lives (for a variety of reasons). I also work with individuals who may be experiencing bowel issues that impact on quality of life, and I advise people as they age on how they can maximise health, strength and wellbeing, to remain independent for as long as possible.

I find it a privilege to be allowed into your life, to be trusted with the task of offering my non-judgmental expertise to help you improve your health and quality of life, let go of any negative behaviours that may be holding you back, and nourish your body according to your nutritional needs.

As an Accredited Practising Dietitian, I undergo continuing education to uphold the standards required for yearly accreditation.

I live with my husband and as 'empty nesters' (insert sad face here), the things that bring me joy are the warm weather, camping and paddle boarding on the Mornington Peninsula in the summer, being able to move my body with various activities during the week, snuggles with my Boarder Collie, Minh, volunteering with Camp Quality, enjoying my husband's cooking and a warm fire in the winter.
